Earlier today, as a part of a morning on-line prayer group I attend, someone used the phrase "Thanks-living." Such an appropriate term for the life I live. I am reminded to give thanks in all situations and for all situations. It is not an easy task as times, but it is something I have learned to do through years of challenges. I have learned that no matter what is going on in my life, I am alive to experience it, and in time, it too will change. So, I am grateful.
I wake up before the sunrises almost every morning. In that time before daylight, I talk to God, but first I thank Him for allowing me the honor of seeing a new day. Life is a gift, and I am grateful for every day of life, and the ups and downs that come with it. I'm not a complainer. If there is a problem, I pray, I think it through, I do what I need to do about it, and usually, it works out. If it doesn't work out, I re-assess, do whatever I need to do, and move forward with life. I also do not hold grudges. They are unhealthy, Therefore, when I have been offended or mistreated in some way, I seek resolution. I express that I have been hurt, and when the time is right, I forgive. I am responsible for my part, not the part of the offender. Life for me is so much better that way.
Today is the day before Thanksgiving. I anticipate having a quiet day and giving thanks for my many blessings. In years past, there used to be large family gatherings and an abundance of food. However, life changes, so, I am grateful for the family I do have whether near or far. I am also grateful for the food God supplies for me each day. Recently, I have had one health affliction after another, but I am super grateful that they are light afflictions. With the power of prayer, great medical people, and good people who are willing to help out if I need it, I am grateful for healing in the degrees and measures it comes.
I am excited about whatever life is bringing to me in the future. My life is good, and God is great! Therefore, I am grateful to have an attitude of thanksgiving and a desire to continue on this journey of "Thanks-living."
